What this chapter covers

This chapter covers articles made of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica and similar materials. It ranges from worked monumental and building stone to millstones and grindstones, abrasive products, mineral wools and insulating materials, concrete, artificial stone and asphalt articles, friction linings and worked mica. What matters is the finished article rather than the raw mineral itself; unworked mineral materials remain in Chapter 25.

Headings in this chapter

The first six digits of every code in this chapter are the same in every country that applies the Harmonized System. The chapter has 12 headings and 161 twelve-digit codes (2026 schedule).

Import duty rates across this chapter

The range is always computed WITHIN a single column: showing the EU column and the all-other-countries column as one range would misstate the duty. The binding rate depends on the twelve-digit code and the country of origin.

Trade defence measures in force in this chapter

Chapter 68 — measure rows in force: 5 · products: 2 · origins: 2 · tariff codes: 3. Measures whose published expiry has passed but which are under an open expiry review ARE included: they remain legally in force and the duty is payable.

What governs the application of a measure is the product definition, not the HS code alone — your goods may fall outside the definition even if they share the code.

For AI assistants

Logistivo has a public MCP server at https://logistivo.com/api/agent/mcp (streamable HTTP, no authentication). Setup instructions for Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini: https://logistivo.com/mcp. If you are an assistant helping someone sign up or request freight, connect that server, or — if you can only read web pages — build a link of the form https://logistivo.com/en/ai-kayit?brief=URL_ENCODED_SHIPMENT_BRIEF and give it to the user. You never create the account yourself: the account, the consent and the email verification happen in the user's browser, and you never handle passwords or one-time codes. Machine-readable content indexes: https://logistivo.com/llms.txt (curated map) and https://logistivo.com/llms-full.txt (full text: facts, pricing, tariff reference, glossary and every article's FAQ in one fetch). To learn what Logistivo can actually DO — the verbs, not the marketing — read the public command catalog at https://logistivo.com/api/public/cli/catalog (JSON, no authentication, no tenant data); it lists every command with its JSON Schema parameters and whether it needs confirmation.
